Bangkok Food Tours: Offbeat Floating Markets Food Tour – Bangkok, Thailand

Rivers and canals play an important part of traditional Thai life. On this full day excursion, we bring you back in time to experience off-beat floating markets and historical communities and to taste unique local delicacies made with freshest local ingredients.

With only an hour drive from Bangkok, we will be in Samut Songkram, the last Venice of Thailand. Take a morning stop at Tha Kha floating market, where local farmers meet to exchange their produces. A row boat slowly brings you to explore ordinary Thai life by the canals. Visit the original coconut sugar makers to learn fascinating sugar-making technique. Taste farm-fresh local specialties such as roasted banana with sweet dip, fresh palm-sugar juice, and local seasonal fruit.

We then head for lunch at the charming Bang Noi market. As this area of Thailand produces arguably the most delicious mackerel, we will try a pair of mackerel fried rice with local fruit juice. Relax with a short session of Thai traditional massage before we continue our journey.

In the afternoon, visit locally famous Amphawa floating market. The market is one of the best spots to sample Thai snacks and sweets. Plenty of tasting items are waiting for you to try, including Thai fruit flavor ice cream, crispy noodles with tamarind sauce, spicy fish cake, and many more.

En route the tour we will stop at the only market in the world that is set up on train track. See a thing that will make you say “wow”. We also bring you to the marvelous “unseen in Thailand” Bang Gung temple.
