Turkish Flavours: Alaçati and Çeşme Flavours Tour – Turkey

We will pick you up from İzmir/Çeşme or environs and accompany you to the quaint historic town of Alaçatı with old cobblestone streets, tastefully preserved stone buildings and delicious regional fresh food.

We will stroll through the historic town stopping to taste local delicacies such as mastic flavored pastries, fresh cheese cookies and Turkish coffee at Alaçatı cafes. We will walk through the colorful farmers market of Alaçatı (Saturday only) and enjoy Turkish tea in a secret garden cafe. We will stroll through the Crafts District featuring antiques, ceramics, woodworking and art galleries of Alaçatı. We will enjoy an Aegean style lunch at an award-winning restaurant, prepared with the freshest ingredients and seasonal edible greens.We will take a short ride to neighboring town of Çeşme to tour the historic Castle and walk across the street to the Marina where we will sample the local delicacy “kumru” sandwich. We will stop at a bistro by the sea to taste the quality wines of the region. We will drive you back after the Alaçatı and Çeşme culinary experience.

Turkish Flavours: Istanbul Street Food Walk – Istanbul, Turkey


Our walking tour is designed to introduce you to Istanbul’s diverse street food.

This tour will give you a chance to taste delicious Istanbul street food and discover the colorful Kadıköy market on Asian side of Istanbul. You will also have a chance to taste some of world famous Çiya Restaurant’s food during your tour.

This walking tour in Kadıkoy will give you a chance to explore Turkish street food, stop at delicious street food stalls or restaurants and discover one of the oldest markets in Istanbul, allowing you a glimpse into the daily lives of Istanbuliotes. Please do not have a big lunch if you are joining us in the evening.

Turkish Flavours: Spice Bazaar & Kadikoy Market Tour with Regional Anatolian Lunch – Istanbul, Turkey

A culinary walk on two continents -Europe & Asia!

Depart for a visit to the Spice Bazaar and nearby attractions. This extensive market was built in the 17th century to finance the upkeep of the nearby mosque, Yeni Cami. The bazaar is often referred to as the “Egyptian Market” due to the fact that spices used to come to the market from India and Southeast Asia via Egypt. There is plenty to discover for the “foodie.”

Then we will take a ferry to Kadıköy on the Asian side of Istanbul from Eminönü and walk through the historical Kadıköy market where there is plenty to discover for the “foodie.” This market is one of İstanbul’s most colorful, vibrant and accessible shopping spots. Many traders have been in business since the early to mid 1900s and the more famous ones really need no introduction.

We will wander to probably Kadıköy’s, if not İstanbul’s best-known restaurant amongst gourmets to Çiya restaurant that specializes in food from the Southeastern region of Turkey, as well as a wider selection of Mediterranian food. Çiya creates its menu from the kitchen memories of forgotten dishes, lost tastes and wiped -off-cultures which have been carried from hand to hand and from taste to taste.

The ingredients used in the dishes travel from the cities of Hatay and Gaziantep to arrive at your plate in Istanbul: aromatic red pepper, pistachios, chickpeas, olive oil and pomegranate molasses. Here we will enjoy a sumptuous meal of 20-25 dishes by the reknown chef Musa and eventually hear the stories of his signature dishes: Zahter salad, kebab with pistachios, stuffed eggplant, babahannus, and many more.

After lunch we will take the ferry back to the European side. A delicious walking tour in Istanbul! Please do not have a big breakfast if you arecoming on this tour. Please do not have a big breakfast on the day of your tour and make no dinner reservations.

Tour from 9:30 am to 14:30 pm, ferry fares , tastings , a multi course lunch (20 + dishes) with a tasting menu offering small portions of many dishes in the restaurant.

Cost : USD 145.- per person

Vegetarian diets are not challenging options for us – it’s easy being green and tasting exciting Turkish vegetarian delicacies.
