DC Metro Chocolate Tours: Dupont Delights Chocolate Tour – Washington, DC

Join DC Metro Chocolate Tours as we uncover the sweet side of Dupont Circle. Dupont Circle is located in the “Old City” of Washington, D.C. — the area planned by architect Pierre Charles L’Enfant — but remained largely undeveloped until after the American Civil War, when there was a large influx of new residents. Improvements made in the 1870s by a board of public works headed by Alexander “Boss” Shepherd transformed the area into a fashionable residential neighborhood.

Our exclusive 2 ½ hour walking tour highlights the beauty, lifestyle and architecture of Dupont Circle, including world-famous (and infamous!) chocolatiers. Sample chocolate at its best while learning the rich history behind our chocolate delights, all while strolling along some of the most famous streets in the world.

Some of our chocolate destinations include:

  • Feature stop: The Melting Pot – Chocolate fondue-dipped strawberries and delights – need we say more?
  • Meet the sisters at Chocolate Chocolate, one of Dupont Circle’s most famous chocolate shops, who has a tray of their famous house truffles waiting just for you!
  • Experience a hands-on session of chocolate molding and dipping in this cozy boutique store. (returns in September)
  • Explore chocolate from different parts of the world with this international chocolatier.
  • One of the most famous international chocolatiers, Godiva has opened its doors to allow samplings of its renowned seasonal offerings.

And more!

You’ll pick up plenty of samples as you go, plus tips on tasting, buying, and storing chocolate. DC Metro Food Tours – Gastronomic Georgetown

Our latest Food Tour takes you to the historic yet chic charm of Georgetown, an area that pre-dated Washington DC. You will be transported on this 3.5 hour Food Tour across 250+ years of history, cross from the district of Columbia to the commonwealth of Virginia, and enjoy flavors closely connected to the Northwest DC neighborhood.

Long before it became popular by the Kennedys and the home of high end retail and fashion, Georgetown was a working class port city pre-dating the Federal City of Washington DC. Its roots are still very much alive and can be seen in the red brick townhomes, and turn of the century factories that are found throughout the area.

The Food Tour will bring together progressive, high end cuisine, with long standing DC institutions. From restaurants and shops running before prohibition, to swanky hotspots, this Food Tour brings together some of the best this area has to offer.

We will finish up our journey by crossing the historic C&O canal and enjoying a sweet ending and drink from a bakery that originated as a printing house.

Your Food Tour may include the following specialties:

  • Hand made pastas from a long time owner/chef
  • Presidential favorite dishes
  • Handcrafted beverages from an ultra chic European influenced coffeehouse
  • Authentic French Cuisine
  • Local wine and cheese pairings
  • DC’s best sandwich at a Georgetown institution
  • Local specialties at a market serving the area since 1790
  • Hand crafted beverages
  • Desserts from Georgetown’s favorite family-run bakery

We recommend you eating a light brunch before the tour rather than lunch. The dishes you will try throughout the Georgetown Food Tour are both small meals and traditional tastings. We want you to be able to experience the best each restaurant has to offer. Like our other Food Tours, you will not need dinner after the tour.
